Writing Course: The Beginning, The Middle and The End with Rachael Blok

  • Books on the Hill 1 Holywell Hill St Albans, England, AL1 1ER United Kingdom (map)

Rachael Blok, also writing as Rachel Wolf, has published five books to date, and has had short stories published in a number of anthologies. She has also had a number of short stories featured in magazines.

Her books have been reviewed in a number of national newspapers and magazines, an example of some comments below:

· 'An engrossing and twisty procedural', Sunday Times Crime Club

· 'Blok has an elliptical, poetic style that treats the narrative ... A powerful, eventful novel that depicts grief as a pit "so deep and wide that there's no climbing out". The dizzying heat comes off the page', The Times

· 'This atmospheric novel is a slow burn – but well worth it', Heat Magazine

· '[A] scorchingly good thriller', Sunday Mirror

The course – The Beginning, The Middle and The End – will cover planning a novel, developing characters, the sticky middle, finishing a novel, and what comes next: agents, publishers, book deals.

The course will consist of three sessions, each 90 minutes with a coffee break. It will focus on planning, writing and publishing. You do not need to have written anything at all to take part. However, if you have already written part of a novel, there will be an opportunity to review a few pages of this with the group. We will not necessarily be able to review everyone’s work in three sessions.

You can sign up for all three sessions of the course, or if there is availability, simply book one of the three. For example, if you have written your novel, you might be more interested in the final session – The End.

The price is £50 per session and you can book here for the individual or entire course.
