Anthony~ Four Books that I’m looking forward to…
Rooted: How regenerative farming can change the world by Sarah Langford (2/03)
I am really looking forward to this book. Sustainability, the environment and the farming industry are at a really interesting point where innovation and change are in progress. Regenerative farming is only something I heard about in the last year and to get a better understanding of it would be fascinating. I am also interested in the change in the relationship between the land, the farmers and most importantly sustainability. A hugely important part of how we can adapt to climate change.
Spring Rain by Marc Hamer (2/02)
Nature writing. A memoir. A boy, the rain, an angry dog and a gardener. This book sounds really interesting as it’s about a boy’s journey to find peace and freedom through his sanctum of gardens. From the author of Seed to dust which is a fascinating read into the understanding of gardens. A heart-warming writer.
The Full English: A Journey in Search of Country and its People by Stuart Maconies (14/04)
What it means to be English? And how they identify as English? This book sounds like a lot of fun and a love letter to England. From my research this book takes you through English cities and towns in the shape of different characters that the author meets on buses and trains. A journey to understand a national psyche better, told in an intimate style.
Wise Gals: The Spies who built the CIA and changed the future of Espionage by Nathalia Holt (2/02)
This looks like a really fascinating read about four women, after World War 2, who had a heavy influence in shaping what is called the CIA to this day. Not only that but with their daring persistence and fighting spirit be instrumental in their world of expertise and insist in their own unique ways to get the credit and the pay they deserve. This sounds like a brilliant human story, a resilient story and a side of the CIA history that the world has yet to discover.
