Katie Reviews~ the YA series 'A Good Girls Guide To Murder' by Holly Jackson

Book review of the series A Good Girls Guide To Murder by Holly Jackson

A Good Girls Guide To Murder series is a perfect starting point for young adults to explore and enjoy the crime genre. Or if you're like me, a place for a reader of the crime genre to sit back with an easy, quick read but with some brilliant twists and turns you don't have to work too hard for, but also twists you can't guess. These books contain a murder-suicide, serial killers, romance, and a town with far too many secrets to keep hidden.

Book 1: A Good Girls Guide To Murder

A Good Girls Guide To Murder follows 17 year old Pip as she investigates a closed case murder that ended in the suspect committing suicide in the police’s eyes. But Pip believes otherwise and tries to provide it as part of her extended project for school. This is a brilliantly written book, that is fast-paced and full of unexpected plot twists and a perfect ending that even I wasn't expecting.

Book 2: Good Girl, Bad Blood

Pip returns in Good Girl, Bad Blood with her podcast about the court case for the crime she solved the year before. When a close friend's brother (Jamie) goes missing and the police won't investigate, Pip takes on the challenge to work out what's happened to him before time runs out. Much like the previous book I couldn't put Good Girl, Bad Blood down, the writing and plot line has you craving for more.

Book 3: As Good as Dead.

The third and final book in the series follows Pip as she tries to deal with her PTSD caused by the events in the previous two books. Pip hopes to solve a final case to save herself from her PTSD. However things don't work the way Pip hopes and soon she starts receiving threats that start to escalate. Are these threats connected to something bigger? The ending of this book is so far removed from how you'd expect it to end based on the previous books. When I first picked this book up I never expected it to end like it did…
