Rediscovering Moominvalley: A Guide for New and Old Fans  by Evie

I am among the many people who have read and still adore the enchanting Moomin tales written by author Tove Jansson. Since I was a child, I have been overcome by their beauty in both narration and illustration. Though I have quickly realised that when mentioning this series to various people I meet, they often react with a bright smile to the happy memories these tales have brought them but had yet been forgotten.

With there being 9 books in Jansson’s wonderful series and 5 further picture books, we have selected some of our favorites to stock in store. Whether you intend to reminisce on these exciting tales or share them with family and friends - read on to learn about some of the books we have waiting for you.

This is the first book in the series and where the Moomin tales first begin. Moominmamma and Sniff search throughout the valley and its beautiful landscape to find Moominpappa. Follow the Moomins on their exciting adventures, accompanied by the most beautiful watercolor illustrations to make this read even more magical. This is a gorgeous edition to keep and treasure for years to come.

Moomin: The Complete Tove Jansson Comic Strip

A wonderful book filled with Jansson’s comic strips of the Moomin adventures. This copy is slightly larger than A4 and its large pages and intricate detailing throughout makes it the perfect book for Moomin lovers, old and new. From cover to cover this book is a masterpiece, the comic strips make it easy to become lost in the Moomin world. This is the perfect book to get you started again if you’re only just rediscovering these tales. The back of the book has a quote that reads ‘I only want to live in peace, plant potatoes and dream!’. This is a gentle and comfortable read that will stay with you forever, as they have with me.
