Anthony Reviews: The Story of Trees and how they changed the way we live by Kevin Hobbs & David West. Illustrated by Thibaud Hérem.

As it is the season where the trees tell us the first notable change in a visual and beautiful way, they are brought into the forefront of our lives. This book is wonderful and stunning. It is very informative and gives fascinating facts about a lot of the trees that have been so important to the human race. From why they are called this, what they were harvested for, and how they’ve helped us exist. It also a beautifully illustrated book. I particularly just enjoy dipping in and out of it giving me a better understand why the chair I am sitting on is made of that tree or what tree the fruit/nut that I am eating comes from. I definitely feel like that I need to just sometimes take a moment and appreciate these gentle giants that are so important to us because without their intelligence, their versatility and sheer beauty we wouldn’t live in such a wonderful world.

Quote from the book – ‘Trees and the kingdom of plants are fundamental to our existence and development as a human race.’

The shop also has plenty of other books about Trees, Nature and the Planet. Some really beautiful and knowledgeable works of art. The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben and A Life on Our Planet by David Attenborough just to name a few. I am currently reading What Does Rain Smell Like? 100 fascinating questions on wild ways of the weather by Simon King & Clare Nasir. I am enjoying understanding the weather and how it works a lot more.
