Mindful Afternoons with Books On The Hill

  • Books on the Hill 1 Holywell Hill St Albans, England, AL1 1ER United Kingdom (map)

Join us for a new series of workshops, taking place in our Reading Rooms on a Thursday Afternoon. This series is an introduction to different skill sets that can help calm the mind and is perfect for those wishing to be introduced to a new range of activities.

The session ~

For February we will be undertaking an embroidery session, starting the session by looking at different approaches. Then you will be invited to develop your skills to create a piece of embroidery that you can take home. And lastly finishing on any queries and questions from the group

This event is ideal for beginners, as we will discuss some basic principles of embroidery, how to approach a new reference piece, and the best techniques.

Tea and coffee will be available throughout the session.

Places are limited so to avoid disappointment we do recommend booking your place here.

Materials~

We encourage you to bring a selection of the materials listed below:

  • An embroidery needle

  • Thread

  • An embroidery hoop

  • A few pieces of fabric to embroider (plain is preferable to help create as a beginner).

Some materials will be available on the day but we advise you to bring your own so that you can continue creating artwork after this introductory session.
