The Baillie Gifford Prize
The Baillie Gifford Prize was known previously as The NCR Book Award for Non-Fiction, which ran for 10 years from 1987 to 1997, then The Samuel Johnson Prize launched in 1999 taking over where the NCR Award left off. After this Baillie Gifford, became the sponsor of The Samuel Johnson Prize and renamed The Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-fiction in 2016.
This prize covers all non-fiction in the areas of current affairs, history, politics, science, sport, travel, biography, autobiography and the arts.
