Arpan Reviews: One Piece

The setting of One Piece takes place in an era called “The Great/Golden Age of Piracy” and starts when the King of the Pirates is executed in front of many people;; just before he is executed, he states that anyone can have his treasure, he left everything ‘there’. A little boy named Monkey D. Luffy has a dream about being the King of the Pirates, meaning he needed to find “One Piece” (the name of the ex-King of the Pirates treasure_ - will he find it?

Thinking it was a normal fruit, Monkey D. Luffy accidentally eats a rare fruit that grants abilities. This fruit was the Gum-Gum fruit, which grants the user rubber-like abilities and now he can’t swim (one of the side-effects) but still pursues his dream of being the King of the Pirates. The series is still ongoing, but the high point in One Piece was only 2 episodes ago, when Luffy discovered a new transformation which gives him loads of power.

Overall, this is an amazing series - I would recommend to everyone. It has been so successfull; Netflix has even made a programme based on it!
