Katie Reviews~ Three Sister by Heather Morris
Three Sisters is the third and final book in the Tattooist of Auschwitz series. This heartbreaking historical fiction novel follows three sisters Cibi, Livi and Magda as they are sent to Auschwitz. Livi the youngest at 15 is the first in the family to be ordered to Auschwitz, however Cibi remembers a promise the three children made to their father before he died 'to all ways look after each other'. As a result Cibi volunteers to accompany her sister.
This novel highlights the determination of sisters to protect each other through all the cruelty and brutality they experience. Compared to other books depicting the horrors of world war two and Auschwitz, three sisters tells the tale of children not adults.
This is a beautifully written and easy to read novel, however it is not one I've been able to read before bed. What makes it haunting is that two out of the three sisters live today in Israel surrounded by family. Their victory.
